William C. Hall (Bill) was born in Daytona Beach and grew up in South Daytona.   A graduate of Mainland High School and Daytona Beach Community College, Bill received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Central Florida.  He is also a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

After working several years for Daytona Beach PD and Ponce Inlet PD, he was hired as a Police Officer by the South Daytona Police Department in 1979. Bill has worked his way up the ranks as an Investigator, Patrol Sergeant and  Detective Sergeant.  Bill was promoted to  Captain in 1997, and appointed to Chief of Police in 2005.  During his career he has been a Field Training Officer, Certified Instructor for Firearms, ASP and ASR, Armorer, Traffic Homicide Investigator and Tactical Team member and leader.

In 2002, as department Accreditation Manager, he was instrumental in guiding the police department in achieving accreditation thru the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation and national recognition from the Commission on Law Enforcement Accreditation.  The Department received reaccreditated status in 2005.

Chief Hall regularly participates in many citizen programs, the most popular being the Citizens Firearm Safety Program and as the Chef at the annual Citizen's Alert annual fund-raising bar-b-que.

Chief Hall is married, has three children, and resides in South Daytona.

Chief Hall recognizes the importance of law enforcement accreditation and believes that the standards are a good starting point to provide professional services to our communities.

Chief Hall is a member of the Executive Board of the Florida Chapter of the F.B.I. National Academy Associates, and has been an area representative for the past 6 years.
