Hollywood Police Department

In 2004 the citizens of Hollywood approved a $5 million General Obligation Bond (GOB). This funding was approved and used for police technology initiatives. The Hollywood Police Department immediately began an intense upgrade to agency technology by purchasing several software programs for various technological improvements.

Mobile data computers were purchased and are utilized in all police vehicles allowing the officers to view dispatch information prior to arriving on scene. CJNET and Quickvoice were added to the mobile data computers to assist officers with various tasks and promote officer safety. Quickvoice is utilized to verbally acquire registration and electronically complete citations and crash reports while also providing the officers a mapping program to locate addresses, license or warrant information. This promotes officer safety. CJNET offers officers the ability to view photos of wanted persons, search license information, correctional information, etc. CrimeView allows citizens to conduct on-line crime queries by displaying an electronic pin map depicting where certain incidents occurred within the city. Hollywood is continually looking for new, innovative ways to improve the way law enforcement performs through new technology.
