EDGEWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Edgewood Police Department has successfully completed a program they are especially proud of during the past year. The program was a Safe-Streets Neighborhood Halloween Party. This event was organized to re-establish positive contact with city residents by providing a safe venue for city children during Halloween night. The police department coordinated with several businesses within the city to set up tents to hand out candy and other give aways for the children. Other businesses contacted by the police department also donated candy for distribution. The Orange County Fire Department sent several of their fire fighting equipment for display as well. The police officers patrolled the event on foot for closer, more personal contact with city residents and according to participants the event had a positive impact on the attendees.
