EDGEWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Edgewood Police Department has successfully completed a program they are especially proud of during the past year. This event was a Toys for Tots Christmas Drive. The Toys for Tots Drive was used to gather toys for needy children and to provide an opportunity for city residents to meet the Chief of Police. A local business donated a large tent in which toys could be collected and other city businesses donated other items for the barbeque. Free food was provided to anyone who donated to the toy drive. The Chief of Police donated his personal barbeque cooker to provide meals for all participants. The United States Marine Corps was in attendance as well as a player from the Orlando Magic Basketball team to sign autographs. The event was viewed as a large success once again putting the police department in positive interaction with its service community.
