Chris Roberts is in his 33rd year of service with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and is the Chief of the Corrections Department. Chief Roberts began his career in corrections, and then spent over 25 years in Law Enforcement, where he was the Captain of the Special Investigations Division before returning to Corrections as the Department Chief in 2013. Since returning to Corrections Chief Roberts has achieved the designations of Certified Jail Manager with the American Jail Association, and Certified Corrections Executive with the American Corrections Association. In addition, Chief Roberts is a certified Florida Model Jail Standards and Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission inspector. Chief Roberts holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management and an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He is also a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s 41st Command Officers Development Course, the 230th Session of the FBI National Academy, and 71st session of the DEA Drug Unit Commanders Academy.
Chief Roberts is active in the community on the boards of the Children’s Advocacy Center, the Public Safety Coordinating Council, and the Department of Juvenile Justice Advisory Council for the 20th Judicial Circuit.
