Major Darrell Hibbs is employed by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and has proudly served for 28 years.  His wife, also of 28 years, Pamela Hibbs, is a deputy sheriff, assigned to the Community Services Unit.  Pam and Darrell Hibbs have been residents of Brevard County, Florida since 1987.  They are proud parents of 2 adult children and have been recently blessed with a grandchild.
Major Darrell Hibbs earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Police Administration from the University of Eastern Kentucky.  He began his career as a Corrections Deputy and was promoted to Sergeant a few years later. In 2000, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Inspector for Internal Affairs and Accreditation and in 2008, appointed to the rank of Major.

During his 28 years of professional service with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Major Hibbs has been the recipient of a multitude of awards including:  Service Award for Prosecution Alternatives for Youth, Southern Police Institute University of Louisville Dean’s Scholar, Brevard Community College Law Enforcement Academy top academic award, and Brevard Community College Corrections Academy top academic award.

Darrell Hibbs currently serves in the capacity of Major at the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office where he continues to serve as a role member and mentor to the employees he supervises and the public he is sworn to protect.
